Less is definitely more at the sexiest, sassiest show of the summer! Sizzling musical comedy duo Lauren Molina (Ten Cents a Dance at WTF) and Nick Cearley (All Shook Up) – AKA The Skivvies – turn the heat way, way up as they perform stripped down mash-ups of pop songs and show tunes…in their underwear.

The Wall Street Journal calls these wildly popular undie-rockstars “smart, sophisticated…ingenious” and Out Magazine declares that they’ve “managed to carve out a niche that we never knew existed: Part Weird Al parody and part sexy burlesque…an unusual explosion of satire and sultry.” Special guests, including Christopher Hanke (How to Succeed..., Buyer &amp; Cellar) and Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening, War Horse), will take the stage – and take it off – alongside the red hot duo. July 13 @ 1:15PM: “The Road to Banning Conversion Therapy in NY.” In conjunction with A Great Wilderness, Judd Krasher (Council Member, 11th Ward, City of Albany), shares his experience championing the ordinance to ban conversion therapy in Albany and how his efforts may help resuscitate a state-wide bill.

July 19 @ 2:45PM: In conjunction with Living on Love, guest W. Anthony Sheppard (Chair and Professor of Music, Williams College) will take us on a fun and surprising tour of all the operas, lovers, and divas that pop up in Living on Love.

August 10 @ 1:15PM: “Dark Musicals.” In conjunction with The Visit, guest David Eppel (Chair and Professor of Theatre, Williams College) takes us to the darker side of musical theatre. Come learn about macabre musicals, the increasingly popular subgenre of musical theatre, to which Kander and Ebb (The Visit, Chicago, Cabaret) have made significant contributions.

August 14 @ 4PM: “The Making of PigPen Theatre Co.” In conjunction with The Old Man and The Old Moon, the endlessly imaginative PigPen Theatre Co. shares the story of building their unique brand of music, film, and theatre--both during their undergrad years and since their graduation from Carnegie Mellon University.

PigPen Theatre Co., presenting THE OLD MAN AND THE OLD MOON on the WTF Nikos Stage August 6-17, will perform a family concert of their unique brand of contemporary folk music set against the spectacular views from Cricket Creek Farm.  We're thrilled to announce that indie-rock legend Mark Mulcahy will open the show.  The bounty of local agriculture and locally produced food will be showcased with special offerings from Red Apple Butchers, Hops &amp; Vines, the Mezze Food Truck, Cricket Creek Farm, and Big Elm Brewing. Music kicks off around 6, but come early for tours of the farm, cheesemaking and milking demonstrations, and family games and craft activities.

Earnest and gullible young lyricist Fred Stevens boards a train in Schenectady bound for the Big Apple, determined to make a name for himself in the thriving Tin Pan Alley scene. However, the life he’s imagined is rife with seductive distractions — namely dames — that threaten to derail his dream of penning the next big ditty. Both bitterly funny and deliciously literate, legendary humorists Ring Lardner and George S. Kaufman celebrate and skewer the perishable pop of yesteryear. Director Jessica Stone, whose WTF productions of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Last of the Red Hot Lovers left audiences convulsed with laughter, brings her special brand of glee back to the Festival stage.

Sardonic and morally complex, The Visit asks: What can your heart afford? Featuring Festival favorite Roger Rees and helmed by Tony Award-winning director John Doyle, this incendiary musical is one of the last collaborations between the incomparable John Kander and Fred Ebb, with a book by Tony Award winner Terrence McNally and choreography by the legendary Graciela Daniele.

As the young writers try to keep themselves out of the story while churning out chapters, the high-energy — and high-maintenance — power duet threatens to fall out of tune for good.
