Chekhov returns to the Main Stage as part of WTF's great tradition of presenting the classics in breathtaking revivals. What better finale to our fiftieth season, and more fitting farewell to the Adams Memorial Theatre before its renovation, than Chekhov's last and most poignant drama. The old world is giving way to the new, but the Gaevs have neglected to notice the bewildering changes in the Russian way of life. The fate of the beautiful orchard becomes a symbol of the fate of the characters in this masterpiece.

Terrence McNally (Love! Valour! Compassion! and Master Class) writes about a couple's love affair with the theatre. Lou and Jessie Nuncle run a children's theatre in a mall in upstate New York. With the possibility of taking over an abandoned vaudeville palace, the Nuncles are forced to examine how far their love of theatre will take them. A World Premiere.

Start to unravel from there." And so goes Noel Coward’s classic comedy, a carousel of Bohemian love, passion and friendship that goes from charming to shocking and from London to Paris to New York. Directed by Gregory Boyd (WTF’s 2003 Travesties), this deft and daring work promises to be a feast of words and wit.

Evan Cabnet, the director of 2003’s Ubu The King, returns to WTF with a play that has influences of Alice in Wonderland, Arabian Nights, and The Wizard of Oz. Haroun is the skeptical son of Rashid, a storyteller known as the Shah of Blah. Tired of Rashid’s constant yarn-spinning, Haroun complains, â€œWhat’s the use of stories if they aren’t even true?â€ But when Rashid mysteriously loses his ability to tell tall tales, Haroun sets sail on the magical Sea of Stories to get his father’s powers back. Joined by an Iff` (actually a Genie) and a Butt (actually a mechanical bird), Haroun travels to the far away land of Kahani, only to learn that his father’s tales are not only true but also alive. Staged in a bucolic setting, the Free Theatre is WTF’s perennial family favorite. Bring a picnic. Admission is, of course, free.

Shakespeare’s most magical play alights on the Main Stage replete with lovers, fairies, music, mirth and a bumbling company of actors. A company of WTF’s beloved (and not bumbling) actors, guided by WTF mainstay Nicholas Martin will transform the theatre into a summertime vision of loveliness filled with laughter, vivifying one of Shakespeare’s most cherished romantic comedies.

A World Premiere from the playwright of James Joyce's The Dead. It’s Rome, 1962, but to a group of visiting Americans it feels more like the far edge of the known world. Rodney, a movie actor, is filming one of the first "Spaghetti Westerns." With him are his twenty-five year old daughter, his recently widowed sister, his manager, and his wife of ten years, Fay, who finds herself the center of this story of loss, disorientation, emotional confusion and very human desire.

Theresa Rebeck, writer of the recent Off-Broadway hits Omnium Gatherum and Bad Dates, brings a powerful new drama to WTF. Richard returns to his family home after 17 years to reconcile with his estranged wife, Helen, and their two children. The mysteries of time and memory are awakened along with Helen’s simmering rage, and the play moves through comedy to tragedy as it ponders the question, â€œWhat wouldn’t you do for your child?â€ A World Premiere.

This once-in-a-lifetime, one-night only celebration will bring together many of the artists who have called WTF home over the years to pay tribute to WTF's rich history in a theatrical evening consisting of scenes, songs, film clips and recollections of the madcap and moving behind-the-scenes tales that make up this renowned summer theater. The evening begins with a special retrospective show on the Main Stage - As Dreams Are Made On at 6 pm. Following the performance enjoy cocktails, dinner and fireworks under the stars on the Williams College campus.

Eurydice is writer Sarah Ruhl’s retelling of the ancient Greek myth of love and loss told from the point of view of Eurydice. Eurydice’s true love is the most amazing musician in the world. On her wedding day, she encounters an interesting, nasty man and finds herself tumbling into an underworld of forgetfulness and discovery.
